YES! I Want to Become A SAPE Pen Pal! How Do I Join?
You'll need to give us some information about you and about the type of pen pal you want. At the bottom of this page is a link to our Pen Pal Questionnaire. Print the questionnaire (or copy all of the information on a piece of paper) and answer all the questions so that we can match you with an appropriate pen pal.
We do not accept any pen pal requests by email. There are 2 reasons for this:
| 1) | At the bottom of the pen pal questionnaire, you must sign a statement that says all of the information you have given us is true and accurate, and |
| 2) | We will send your pen pal's information to you by postal mail. In doing this, we are able to confirm that the postal address you have given us is correct. |
There is no fee for our service, but we do ask that you provide the envelope and postage for us to send your pen pal's information to you. Basically, we'll give our time for free to match you up AND we'll pay for the paper and printing cost of your pen pal information sheet if you'll pay for the envelope and the postage. A fair trade, wouldn't you say??
So, with your completed application, you'll also need to send us an unsealed envelope with your address on it and some International Reply Coupons (IRC's) which we can exchange for stamps at our post office. The number of IRC's you'll need to send depends on how many penpals you want. The more pen pal sheets we send you, the heavier the letter will be and the more it will cost to mail it to you.
What Kind of Information Do I Need to Give You About Myself?
Your name, your postal address, whether you are male or female, your age, and what languages you know.
